Kenji Fujita

statement #2 (2008)

For all the attention paid to truth in process and materials, there’s a part of my work that resists the allure of the transparent and revels in the opaque. My work is not only a record of its own making, it is also visual work that resists interpretation, operating in a transitional space that holds in suspense its status as finished or unfinished; painting or sculpture; fact or fiction.
